I am not a leader at work? Do I still need a Coach?
Seldom have I found people who listened to what I wanted to do.
I listened to my teachers and my sister’s advice when I was deciding on my subject in Grade 11. I listened to my uncle’s advice as I decided to let go of a certain graduation course even though I secured All India Rank 1 in its entrance and instead pursued the usual accountancy degree.
Time and again in my life, I have found different people advising me on what I should or should not do. Seldom have I found people who listened to what I wanted to do and what truly my heart’s aspiration is.
When people ask me if they need a coach even though they are not a leader at work, I say a
resounding ‘Yes!’ That is the only advice which I give to people these days.
As a coach, I refrain from giving any piece of advice to my clients. My role as a coach is to let people find their own solutions for which I rather need to listen carefully to what they say while observing their energy patterns and body language.
Coaching is for everyone, even that school-going kid, who like me is confused on which stream of study to pursue.
I call myself a ‘conscious leadership coach’ and believe everyone is a leader of their own mind. Everyone is subjected to different choices, societal conditioning and pressures.
With all the mental clutter around, it becomes even more important to listen to one’s own voice and know how one truly feels.
Doing so, one becomes better
