Ho! Ho! Ho! The belief of Santa Claus being real is getting reinforced in me as I prepare for Christmas with my 4-year-old daughter who is also expecting a gift. In my view, coaches are real life 'Santa', enabling people to live a purposeful life using their strengths and being themselves.

The picture (right) is from my visit to Santa Claus village near to the Arctic Circle with my wife in 2014. I even went for a ride on a reindeer sleigh, albeit it did not fly.

Here is why you should scout for a coach and let your dreams take flight.

Working with joy

Santa works with the elves all year round with creativity and productivity to bring to life the wishes of many. A professional coach partners with you to unleash your potential by focusing on your strengths and to bring to life the absolute best in you.

As I work with my clients, I see them more at ease, happy and successful at the same time.

Gift of compassion and kindness

More than the material gifts, Christmas reminds us to focus on the intent behind the gifts.

In sessions, a coach listens to the client without any judgement and focusses on their energy patterns, gestures apart from the what the client actually says which brings the hidden emotions to surface.

I see the client discarding redundant belief systems as I discuss their being rather than only looking at accomplishing the transactional goal, thus energizing them for a longer haul.

Reminder to live fully

Santa rewards those who are well behaved the whole of the year. Christmas acts as a reminder to pause, reflect and get back to what one holds as good and dear.

A coach focuses on what the client wants to achieve, helps you look at various options through the lens of your thoughts and feelings.

I witness success stories as I partner with clients in rhythmic sessions, through listening, reflective inquiry, consistent acknowledgement on their wins and support during the growth phase.

He may not look like that rosy-cheeked, jolly good fellow but as you work with a coach and listen more to yourself, you will find a partner who will co-create your plan, challenge you to self-reflect, be more accountable, evaluate your actions and give you a whole lot more to celebrate in the coming new year.

Gift yourself this precious gift of value for your own being as you sign up with a coach this Christmas.

Happy Christmas and a prosperous new year from me, Paarul and Nikhil at Coachups.
